Senior Planner

Shannon Labelle is a Registered Professional Planner and Urban Designer with Brook McIlroy. She holds a Master of Science in Planning, specializing in Rural Planning and Development. Post graduation, Shannon moved to Thunder Bay to act as a Community Planner for the Nishnawbe Aski Development Fund. After a period working as a planner for the County of Brant, she returned to Thunder Bay where she served as Planner II/Acting Senior Planner.

Shannon has proven working knowledge of the Planning Act and related legislation, Growth Plan, Provincial Planning Statement, Provincial Plans and related guidelines. Her experience includes Official Plan and Zoning By-Law amendments, and major/minor development applications such as Draft Plans of Subdivision, Plans of Condominium, Site Plan Control, Minor Variances, and Consents. Her work with rural and Indigenous communities is an extension of her commitment to using planning as a means of achieving equitable and desirable outcomes for the communities she works with.
